Our extended family loves traveling together. Rick and Jody bring along their children, Justin and Elyse, and Jody's sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Lex. Over the past decades, we've been everywhere together - from busy central London to the beaches of South Carolina, and from the Swiss Alps to the U.S. Open. And we've loved every minute of it!
About JodyI am a pharmacist working for a small orthopaedic hospital in northeast Ohio. On our trip, I was hoping I would not need to take advantage of my employee discount as a result of ‘going outside my comfort zone’. When at home, I enjoy hiking our Metro Parks, knitting warm wooly garments, beading, and basically any type of craft project. This year I convinced my family, who traveled to Switzerland with me, to craft a Harry Potter tree to benefit our local children’s hospital. It was magical – just like our vacation to Switzerland!

About ElyseI work at the University of Akron where I help faculty and student inventors bring their ideas to market. I prepared for our recent Switzerland trip by taking plenty of hikes and jogs with my excessively energetic 5-year-old border collie, Trixie. Growing up, I loved reading and watching movies about European history. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to see places I thought I'd never visit, and to share the adventure with my family.

About JustinI am a physics researcher at the Swiss Plasma Center, a fusion laboratory within the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. I recently finished writing my first book, The Future of Fusion Energy, a popular science book aimed at closing the gap between the actual state of fusion energy research and the public’s understanding of it. It has donuts on the cover! In my free time, I enjoy running, rock climbing, keeping apprised of U.S. politics, and making modern art to put in my apartment. I currently live in Lausanne, Switzerland.

About RickI am a pediatrician of 38 years planning on retiring within the next year. I enjoy reading, hiking and as it turns out traveling. Thanks to our son moving to England and then Switzerland, my wife and daughter have introduced me to the adventures of world travel. Rick Steves tours (I have been on six so far) have been wonderful experiences for our whole family.

About JillI am in my second year of retirement as a VP of IT at a hydraulic manufacturing and repair company headquartered in West Virginia. The highlights of my retirement are spending time with family, reading, and traveling. Any time spent on a Rick Steves tour is especially rewarding. My husband Lex and I will celebrate out 45th wedding anniversary in 2019.

About LexI am enjoying retirement in West Virginia from a Supply Chain Management position. Playing tennis, reading, and gardening are some of my favorite pastimes. It is great to be able to travel with my wife, Jill. We have taken six Rick Steves tours and traveled to many tennis tournaments including Wimbledon and the US Open.

FUN, FUN, FUN!
Vacations are filled with fun and special moments. We always have the best time when the six of us can be together, sharing experiences, sharing celebrations, or simply sharing dinner. Please enjoy some of those moments with us.
